Rear bumper beam specs wanted

Hi!

I have to get my 1987 Volvo 480 a new rear bumper beam since the old one has completely rusted out. I haven't found any new ones, so I wondered if there are specs of the spare part flying around on the internet? I tried searching the forums and google to no avail.

If I could get specs accurate enough that I could ask for offers from metal workshops, that would be awesome.

I must not be the only one who is struggling through a replacement rear bumper beam so I ask here!

If you are feeling flush, you can pay £400 for a new and improved one from Germany that should last forever.

jifflemon: that's the part exactly I'm looking for. I was interested mainly on the outside dimensions: rough height, width and depth for a steel (?) bar to replace it with.

Although now I'm interested in the fiberglass version. I'll have to look into that.
