Steering Wheel Compatability

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Steering Wheel Compatability

Post by WRDendy » Fri Apr 22, 2016 10:37 am

I have a 2-spoke wheel that I'd like to fit to my '94 car with an airbag. I recall that fitting a Momo wheel can only be done in a pre-airbag car unless you change the steering coloumn, is the same true for the Volvo 2-spoke wheel?

Yes you have to change the steering column unit plus the connector yoke for the indicators and horn push. If you have the parts it is an easy job plus you can remove the SRS unit from below the cubby between the seats and fit the deeper cubby instead.

Thanks - I suspected as much!

Time to find someone breaking a pre-airbag car then...

One more question - if I change the steering column would I lose the ignition as well, and thus need two keys (one for the doors and one for the engine?)
