damp rear passenger footwell

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

damp rear passenger footwell

Post by timrosser » Fri Jan 03, 2014 11:11 am

Hi Ive a slightly damp rear passenger footwell- just the drivers side- any ideas on the most likely route for the water to have taken? I have a bit of rust around drivers side rear arch, also the back window steams up a bit on the inside when I wash the car with warm water? Or it could be making is way down from the boot- which normally seems dry enough

it can be the rear window composition, or the hatch composition. I had seen it at the cable loop from the hatch. Or - maybe - at the door composition. You can find it out with a watering pot full of colored water :D
If u need spares feel free to contact me. I ship to whole Europe incl. UK.

The panels above the rear (side) windows would also be a possible place for ingress. I believe they are held to the car by some plastic pins which also seal the holes they push into from letting water in!

Never done it but I recall mention of how to do it on the forum a few years ago. Probably wasn't a ''how-to'' though
