I keep finding small pieces of black sponge on the floor of the car and on the dash.. I think this is being blown out through the vents?.. Is this a common problem?.. Any way to fix it?
Also, is it possible to blow out some trapped dust from the battery gauge?

Re: Black sponge
This is rotten foam, probably used somewhere under the dash.

Re: Black sponge
I had this problem.
Part of the underbonnet soundproofing is breaking up (from being wet and/or oily) and is finding its way through the air vents.
I tore off the section that was decaying and will replace it when it moves further up my priority task list ! Just be careful as there are some earthing (?) connectors for the fibre bonnet attached to the backing sheet.

Re: Black sponge
Ah, thanks, I'll take a look under the bonnet
Re: Black sponge
Doesn't appear to be the foam on the bonnet. Must be the foam behind the dash that is persishing.. That's annoying
