rear bumper removal tips?

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Hell no its a lot harder , more awkward and rusted with little room to work so suggest lots of wd 40 applied well before you start and use best tools available ie hex sockets

oh and best of luck

have fun

Hi
The major pain about iron/steel parts of the bumper is that many of them doesn't have the original shape anymore.
Maybe you can deal with the rust but the main problem is that the plastic skin will follow the inner steel bar and that's why many bumpers might appear with a irregular line...

Thanks for the good wishes! Harriet, I'm being a bit useless can you tell me where this pdf is, I can find a few things on the 480 Europe page? After Jims warning I may just pass on this for another year, but Ali, I'm not planing to do anything to the bumper itself, I just what to clean up the bodywork it fixes too, I'm almost certainly going to regret the jenolite addiction!

Be warned, you may well find the bolts holding the bumper to the chassis beam will shear off when you undo them, even after much penetrating oil has been applied...
Have a contingency plan, or you will be driving around without a rear bumper for a bit!!
