Removing Airbag Steering Wheel-CHEAP!

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Post by catgroom » Wed May 19, 2004 7:46 pm

Hi everybody!
Hey,I got a nice surprise today when visiting my local Volvo dealership,Inchcape in Norwich.I was quoted only £20 + VAT to remove the airbag without setting it off!You can then fit a nice wheel of course!
Just thought I'd mention that for those interested!Oh,and for those of you looking for that Momo Daytona Steering Wheel,Volvo do still list it,BUT,its £320 + VAT!I'll get me coat!!!!!!

It's well easy to do it your self, me and lee have take his steering wheel off many times, you just need to disconnect the battery first.

I always disconnect the battery and waits half an hour before tinkering with the steering wheel.
Without electricity the airbag is no more dangerous then a round of ammo.

Nowadays I have no airbag... :)
