Bonnet seal rattling
I've got problem with rattling noise in speeds over 110kmh. I noticed that the seal between the engine bay and bonnet makes the noise as air rushes to the bonnet air intake. I already tried to lower the bonnet as low it wen't but it still makes the sound. After I removed the seal completely the rattle stopped. Now if I ever want to wash the car, all water will go in. Will new seal help or is the bonnet still adjusted wrong?

Re: Bonnet seal rattling

the one that runs at the top of the wings or the thick one that runs across the engine bay ?

Re: Bonnet seal rattling
The thick one that goes across the engine bay. The one that is closer to the windshield.

Re: Bonnet seal rattling
Are you talking about the black plastic trim that fits at the bottom of the windscreen, through which the washer jets protrude?
One side of mine was re-fitted poorly after windscreen replacement and began vibrating against the windscreen at about the speed you describe-sorted by fixing something beneth to dampen it.
Edit:Why didnt I actually read the first post correctly sorry!

Dakky
if you need the rubber replacement seals 18 euros includes airmail postage
that is for the 2 seals the one across the bulk head and the one which seals the top of the bonnet .
if you only need the bulkhead one it is 11 euros including airmail postage.

Re: Bonnet seal rattling
Actually Captain Slow got it right. It wasn't the seal after all, it just changed the airflow that the trim stopped rattling. I noticed I was missing several of the trim fasteners. So Jim, you got those?

A rare victory for not reading the problem correctly!
