rear washer jet inop

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

rear washer jet inop

Post by dirtyred480 » Wed Mar 31, 2004 7:22 am

Just noticed my rear washer jet is inop, is this a common fault? and is it easy to fix, looked for leaks along the visible parts of the tube but cannot see any leaks, any ideas? rear wipers working if this has anything to do with it.
cheers pete

does you washing liquid motor makes sound, when you try to jet? if it does, than you might have blocked nozle (i had the same problem). pull it off the stand (i think you must take off the interior C pilar plastics) and clean it with piece of wire. put some "negative" pressure to it - stuck the outgoing side into the garden hose so the water runs other way, i.e. it flushes the interior of nozle.

it is recommendable that you use pure watter once a year to clean the system from any residues.

have luck!
bye!

You can always check the motor by swapping the front one with the rear one. Only takes a couple of minutes.
That's my car up there, see?

... unless you've got air-conditioning, and very small hands! The motor's stopped working on my 2.0ES, and I've got a spare one to replace it, but I can't get my hand in there to pull the old one out!

just for the record than: the easiest is to pull the triangular washer right of in a staight line. flush richly. just run the pumplet. take a small needle out of the missus sewing box and clear the hole in the triangular part. eventually blow on it.

Piece of cake.

electrics : check if you have 12 v on the motor as you push the knob. else refer connectors/knob. (test lamp/multimeter)

the motor is prob. not burned. I have my odds on the connections (as they are mostly )
luck,
JPF
