Woohoo, just love my new electric antenna!

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Hurray!

Went to the local scrappies to find a new box that holds the registration plate on the front bumper, sadly they didn't have any (in good condition). But I was walking around trashed and broken and scavenged 480 trying to think of anything I could use, and suddenly I thought of the electric antenna!

Found one 480 with a perfectly silent original 480 antenna from Volvo, they charged me the good price of 25 euro for her! :D Immediately installed it when I came home and just cruised for an hour to enjoy the new antenna!

:)

The 480 I'm going to buy has one too.. I've had a '89 ES and a '92 S, but neither one had an electric antenna. Is it something they added later on, or has it always been an option?

I believe it has always been an option, not 100% sure though.

I have tried two different electric antenna's in my previous 480, they both made a terrible noise when rising or retracting, the original Volvo one is much more silent :D

It was -at least in Germany - a dealer mounted option. In 1995 the cost was 359,-- DM including work and VAT (approx. 185,- Euro).

It was an option for all the years. My turbo 89, had an electric as an option, paid for it something like 250 eurosm then, (100.000 drahmas). My new 480 GT 95 has not got it...Its manual ..anyway the electric antenna was too noisy!!

In my opinion the original Volvo electric antenna is not noisy at all! I have had some universal antennas and they were all noisy, not this one :D
