Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Electric sunroof is great, i press the button to open, and it tilts. The problem comes when i try to shut it. It won't. So at the moment, i'm having to let the motor run until it thinks it is shut, then push it down myself. This is quite annoying, but it's one of my 480's lesser problems. The problem presents itself on windy days, and on the motorway, as i can hear the whistling of the wind through it. I think i read in the Haynes manual that there is a manual shut mechanism somewhere. Is this true?
thanks!

unfortunately teh manual shut option is only for the 440/460 's
I just changed my mates sunroof for one from my old car. if you find a working one at a scrapyard then rip off the headlining (on your car _remove_ the headlining
) and then undo all the little screws holding it in, and it just lifts out
When we replaced it we sealed it in with silicone. of course this could make any future removal quite tricky, but at least the damn thing won't leak.
there is a way of repairing them too, but i don't know it, no doubt someone else will be able to tell you.

Have you tried the FAQ on the website?
Volvo 480 --> 480 F.A.Q. --> Bodywork and Mechanics --> The sunroof does not function properly, how can I fix it?

sorry, thanks for bringing that to my attention. do you know where to get the little plastic pins it refers to, or the part number?

I repair mine two weeks ago, it's quite easy.
Just be careful with the two screws, cause they turn the other direction, they go in and then you can remove the glass.

I don't know the screw numbers, but if explain the guys at the dealers what you want I am sure they can get it for you. Maybe it helps if you print the diagramm. Good luck!

Good job on that last post ESone. I didn't want to try and explain it again. This should be kept somewhere.

Did mine a few months ago. No great difficulties as long as you remember the 2 Allen screws (3mm.?) are left hand thread.
