rear arch repair panels

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

rear arch repair panels

Post by stephen brooks » Thu Jul 17, 2008 10:32 pm

hi,
to cut a long story short my father in law is a panel beater and was asked some years ago if he could make these repair panels.the chap that asked him even got two rear quarters brought over from sweden to take the patterns off.
this he did and made up 5 sets which are 95% finished.
a year or so ago i started helping him in his shed and have just recently come across these panels asking what they were for.
so my final question is would it be worth me putting these up for sale on ebay like i do with the mk1 mr2 panels or is there no demand?
thanks in advance,steve

As I can tell from reading the Dutch forum there is a considerable demand. The panels available from the company mentioned seem to be outrageously priced and the material used seems to be of inferior quality. As far as I can judge the initiative of making well fitting panels of good material could very well be successfull.
While the panels, as said, are copied from the originals and if the father in law is a good craftsman there is no reason for doubt.
If you specify the the material the panels are made from and any differences from the original I would like to bring this to the attention of the Dutch owners.
Too old to bother
