I have just had a motor fail on my o/s light...........
Firstly remove the nose cone.
This was part of the job I REALLY wasn't looking forward to! However it is fairly straight forward.
There are the obvious bolts on the top.
Remove the indicators/day run lights (headlights need to be raised to remove the screws securing these).
Remove the bolts either side of the car by the front wing.
Unclip and remove the driving lamps behind here you will find a screw which holds the nose cone support on. (One per side)
Remove the nose cone.
Remove the battery.
I also removed the actual light as it made access easier.
The 'pop ups' are held on by two nuts and a screw at the back, and a screw down at the base of the light unit. (Don't forget to unclip the lead to the motor)
The damper arm also needs unclipping.
Then the 'pop up assembly' will hopefully lift out to enable you to see the damage.
When this happened to me several years ago (I left the lights up and some local ***** lowered them forcibly they were repaired under insurance at a cost of £600!)
Hope the above helps and if I have missed anything then sorry!
Finally actual mechanics are not my forte, and I managed it OK!
