Boot cover, alternatives

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Boot cover, alternatives

Post by red480gt » Thu Jan 15, 2004 9:04 am

Hi all

Has anyone got an alternative to the boot cover on the 480, its a pain trying to fit all the time and if you leave it off any thing in the boot is exposed.

My V40 has a boot cover that pulls out like a roller blind, maybe an option?

I was thinking of cutting piece of plywood the shape of the origional cover and somehow hinging it to open and close.

I have the roller blind, it is an original volvo extra.

noooo :)

The rollercover is a direct replacement for the fabric boot cover - it bolts to the sides by the back seats and you roll it forwards and clip it onto the boot, presumably using the same clips as the removable cover does :) Wouldn't mind one of these myself

Yeah, i'd like one too. Never seen one. Bet they are a bargain down volvo. They wanted £95 for the standard fabric cover thing once

I know someone (gimle?) had 3 or 4 last year that they sold off really cheaply, but since thatb revelation, they have been a hard thing to come across

I got a roller cover and bought the venetian blinds too.
Not installed yet, i'll do it when it gets warmer.
I bought it from the german volvo parts supplier W und G

http://www.w-und-g.de/

for 49 Euro

The rolling cover is 182 Euro, also available through Wagner & Gunter

Check their price list, they got plenty nice stuff for 480's.

alternative for a roller blind ? ---> clean up your boot..:)

I flip the backrests a lot , so a roller blind is always in the way (a big box cannot go under the roll)

sucses, anyhow ;)
luck,

Why would you need such a roller blind? Only because it exists and it has a (so original) volvo parts number? Not to mention that a closed roller blind can make car burglars curious enough to take a look underneath ... for which they need to open your car.
