There seems to have been movement in my left side front strut, as indicated by movement of bolts 'see image' could this have been caused be the previous owner having a prang? how can I remedy this?
Soory. not very good pic, you can see where the paint has chipped through movement of the two bolts.
Also, excuse my ignorance, but should the shocks top end, bits that come up in the middle of the bolts, in pic, move up and down when you push down on the suspension?
Many thanks

did you have an engine-gearbox or clutch change ?
some people lower the subframe, complete with shocks.
anyway, I would not lie awake from this. Probably nothing.
luck,

The handling of the car has been reduced and it pulls to the left quite serverely, may just need wheel aligning

do u just mean the nuts are moving?
what type of play is it, tighten all bolts on the strut top, then jack the wheel up and grab the top of the wheel and pull up like the cars hitting a bump in the road, if you see the strut rubber move in the same direvction your strut top mount is away, not costly to replace and it will have all the things you says its doing (pulling etc)

The rubber bit (both sides) is moving about .5cm when I push down on the front of the car.

oh, well do what i said and jack it up and try it if ja can make it move with your strength then id suggest changing them, they should not move at all.
well not with human strength.
one of mine is away and needs changin
they are only about £30 though so not a tough/expensive job.
