Standard tyres...

Post by looey » Wed Mar 22, 2006 10:09 am

Wondering if a Goodyear Eagle NCT5 is the same as a Goodyear Eagle Ventura? I own a '93 ES with standard 14" rims 185/65, currently has Venturas all round wondering what to replace them with when the time comes. Looking for a good all round tyre, the other type recommended to me were Pirelli P6000, do they last?

Hiya!

Michelin Pilot Primacies on mine.

I've had 70000 miles out of the rears, that were on the front.Still loads of tread left!

£90ish a tyre but you save in the end.The grip is excellent in all weather too!

Pirelli P6000 all round on mine- grip is good! As for whether they last, the rears have done 25,000 miles and still have 5 mm of tread, the fronts have done 12,500 miles and still have 4 mm of tread.

Based on personal experience I would say go for Michelin for length of life, but I think the Pirellis give a good compromise of cost, handling and lifespan. Expect others will diagree!
