how low to go?

Springs, shock absorbers, wheels. Questions about this can be asked in this category.

its not the arches that are the problem, look under your 2 litre and look how close to the ground the bottom of the downpipe/join to the cat is already!
then subtract 40mm for you lowering springs plus a bit of sag and the look how much clearance you have left!

still want to lower it 100mm?? ;)

You could just remove the wheels if you want to go really far because what it would be like.

Lower then 40 and your gonna rip the front spoiler off, knacker the bushes, shake to death.

I had my 2-litre lowered 40mm with PI springs, but got fed up with the cat scraping over even the smallest speed-bump. I swapped them with Catgroom who had some 25mm Fintec springs, and now I've still got reasonable handling (well, better than standard Volvo springs, anyway), but I can get over speed bumps without difficulty, even with 4 adults in the car!

Ben.

40mm is enough I have had 60mm lowering kit on before and its really bad as a pot hole would remove your fillings and no more than two in the car at a time. So you before a billy no mates

Also you might/will have problems with 7.5 rims. You want to stick to 7 inch rims
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
