lowering 4 cm

Post by V480TI » Sun Aug 21, 2005 9:02 pm

I wonder, do I need to rework wheel arches if i lower 4 cm and use standard taurus rims with the correct tyre size (195/55/r15) ???

Just to be sure, do not want to cut my michelin premacy's

It may just just rub a little bit on the rear arches, enough to make the sidewalls look a tiny bit blacker.

Rolling the wheelarches is creating a perfect place for rust. :(

Hey Vins!

I ran -4cm PIs for about 70000 miles and they didnt rub one bit.

My tyres were also 195/55/15s the whole time.

:D

I am not Vins, although I know him...
But anyway, I am glad to hear that they didn't rub.

I run 4cm drop PIs, and it does NOT rub on the arch, but it DOES rub on the inner wall at full lock.
Cheers!

You have big alloys though gaz?

I've never had any rub whatsoever on a 40mm pi drop. Do i remember some difference between the es and turbo for this?

I can confirm that will be no rub on the rear but I like gaz found the the front do rub on the inner. I have replaced the rack/trackrods/ball joints/wishbone bushes and none of those have stopped the rubbing

I can understand that all of you rub at the rear when lowering 4 cm
ive lowered my gt 6 cm at the rear by using 4 cm PI springs and modding the rear axcel AND have 225 45 R17's at the rear and they dont rub at the inside of the wheel.
I had to force the arches that little lip but they dont rub at all
