Fintec -25mm springs fitted today

Post by catgroom » Tue Jul 12, 2005 6:00 pm

Hey!

I spent about 3 hours fitting my Fintec springs today instead of selling them.Damn good they are too, great turn-in on corners and some comfort back at long last.

But hats off to my beloved PI springs which actually have plenty of life left in them. They did sag a little as anticipated which the Fintecs dont.

But,16000 miles in my last Turbo,60000 miles in this one and still helping her to hold the road very well and look good!

Vive la :D PI!!!!!!!

1 month on and I cant say Im that impressed with the Fintecs to be honest. Not sporty enough, which is exactly what Golf owners say after theyve tied them!Bugger!

More comfy though, but for the amount of hardness of ride youd expect them to firm up in corners much better than they do.Those PIs are hard but I miss their go kart like factor!!! :(

it takes some hard ass springs to tame the 480 rear end.

put pies on my panda and it was granite....eiback on ibiza...like stone.
pi on 480...sporty, but not extreme.

There is a solution, however it costs £950 for the 4 with shocks.

The name is Leda Suspension, they make it for the 480 to order.

Is this a :? , :( ,or a :D .I guess it depends on how flush or devoted you are to yours!!!!

Yes it's a coilover kit.

In adition to that it is built to order, and to your spec, so you can have exactly what you want.

IT's kind of pricey though!

Okay, about these cheap and nasty Fintec springs then........

I've had them fitted now for over 10000 miles and Im not happy,so,if anyone has some PIs going I'll have a set of them back on it again!!!!Seriously,I was reading up on them before I bought. One guy out of a few who were happy with them said that on his Golf they were not sporty enough.Thats exactly how I feel, theyre rubber mate!

You get what you pay for in this world as I have found out in my life, funny how PIs are cheap.Just hope my next set dont sag as bad!!!

Steve.
