What cars will my 480 wheels fit?

Springs, shock absorbers, wheels. Questions about this can be asked in this category.

What cars will my 480 wheels fit?

Post by Tiny_UK » Tue Mar 29, 2005 6:36 pm

Hi. I am buying a renault clio RSi on Thursday and was wondering if my 480 wheels would fit (both are 4 stud).

Also, the 480es is for sale as spares or repair. It got bumped when we had the Snow and needs a new door and wing on drivers side. All electrics work and the engine is great for overn 100 mph. I want an offer of about 100, so if you want a car that is great for spares or to repair, Give me an offer.

Either in here or Email me @ tinyuk@gmail.com.

It's not just the PCD and offset you have to comapre the centre bore size to make sure they are the same

The Golf has a different centre bore size as does the Clio, they'd need spigot ring adpators to make them centre line up correctly

Don't think you quite understood what i meant, as the centre bore on the 480 is smaller than the Clio they wont fit if the alloys were design to specifically fit the 480

If you had spigot ring adaptors to fit them on the 480 (plastic rings on the inside of the alloys inbetween the bolt holes) then you can get the them on with new spigot ring adapators for the clio.

Rather than fit spiggot rings, you'd need the bore hole machined larger, as the 480 has a 52mm bore, and the Clio has a 60mm bore, wouldn't you? Spiggot rings are for going the other way (larger to smaller) aren't they?

Thats what i said mate

If you read i said that if he had spig got rings on his existing alloys it would easy to adapt them to the Clio.

Machining the centre bore is not recommended but do-able, weakens the core strength of the wheel.
