Jamex springs for £78 all round

Post by johnd » Thu Mar 03, 2005 9:00 am

Just had them delivered from motorsportworld.co.uk

£78 inc. postage for all four.

Look pretty good, red, progressively wound and drop 30mm, I believe.

Ill put some reviews up when they are on.

Um, i did mention these here about 6 weeks ago.... ;)

Good stuff John, let us know how you get on with them. I have read that they can be quite unforgiving, ride-wise.
But that's the height i'd rather go for myself.

revised advice:

ive now got -40mm lowering springs and the handling does seem to be better than the 35's, that might be down to the new bilstein dampers though.
point is though that it doesnt seem or look any lower than the 35s and it also doesnt scrape on speedbumps as much as the car with the 35's, go figure!!??

Don't really have much to report , just random websites with guys talking about them, can't remember where.
NOT fitted on 480's btw.

Of course they may have poor shocks or fitted the springs badly etc, i'd trust John's forthcoming report more.
Agreed -30mm is a good height to drop as it's lower but not so much lower that it would cause problems.
They will sag a tiny bit anyway so will end up being a bit more drop than -30.

Murf's -40 are Ventura, Bilstein use them in their lowering kits.

It was known about the Jamex springs some time ago (when i had a 480 so couple of years), the problem was sourcing them as they were locking rocking horse sh*t
They're suppose to be 25mm drop.

Having had the 40mm drop i think it was too much especially if you have ICE in the boot ;).

Congratulations on a very good find, hopefully there's more where they came from.
