Are 'Antares' wheels the same as the 6 spoke wheels on the 'Celebration' car, but with five spokes? if so I think I've just discovered that's what I've got!
I didn't realise I had unusual wheels until I saw all the cars at the scottish meeting, and noticed mine were different, mine are exactly the same as Volvo B-Brother's wheels but with 5 spokes not 6. Mr. Pruen reckons they were probably an option.
you can get alloys re-finished can't you?....bead blasting I think....is it expensive to get done? I've got a few scrapes on mine.......
Sx :)

damn I just realised I've put this in the wrong forum subject index division thingy...and now I can't move it.......should have put it in 'wheels'.....doh....

yep, you have antares wheels! ive only ever seen them on late model 440's so yours is the 1st 480 ive seen them on!

you can get alloys refurbished quite easilt but i think its about 250-300 to get them all done. im sure there will be places in edinburgh that do it so have a look in your yellow pages! :D

glad your looking after your 480 now, not thrashing it like when you gave me a lift in it

Hi Sal!

It took me ages to find out what these were called after recently spotting all the late M/N plated had them fitted!!!

Them not being listed in with the wheels on here didn't help but hey the answer is now here!!!

I also noticed that the front fogs are different also and may be on yours.Theyre not clear ones but like the earlier lense type but smaller,I believe the same as on the 440 M/N/P platers.

A bit anorak yeah, but it may matter one day and be of some use! :D

Steve. :hopping:

I did mention it to you at the meeting sally. I thought you had fitted alloys because they didn't have the volvo logo on them

And don't worry about posting in the wrong forum, I've moved it to the Springs and Wheels forum ;)

Cheers

@ Catgroom - .......anoraks are always handy in the rain ;) I'll be out there looking at my fog lights now!...suppose it's these little things that makes them all different!

@ Volvo BB - how did you move my posting?

You still moving stuff and deleting threads?

I just picked up some nice 15" alloys from ebay for £29.99

Image

They came off a 480S and guy replaced them with standard 15" 480 alloys.

Ahhh right, I couldn't see why you would want to change them unless it was for insurance reasons or something silly.

And once you've done that you can try mine, and see what £80 and the magic of Mr Pruen can do! :D
You will notice the difference, although Murf's is now lowered and so will handle better.

@ atex61 - there's a dark green turbo for sale in Edinburgh on Ebay at the mo.- 91000 miles on the clock tho, starting bid £250. I've got a feeling i've seen that car driving round Edinburgh, think it may live near me.
