Need to find a 480 5 spoke wheel.

Springs, shock absorbers, wheels. Questions about this can be asked in this category.

Need to find a 480 5 spoke wheel.

Post by alcmarsh » Tue Jan 27, 2004 6:37 pm

Don't ask how, but I managed to 'loose' one of my wheels.

Its a '91 480 turbo front passenger side, but I think all the 5 spokes are the same.

Basically can anyone tell me where I can get hold of one?
Preferably with a servicable tire..
I'm currently driving on the space saver spare.

Thanks,

Al

Is it an embarrasing " I managed to slide it into a roundabout" type of lost, or did you genuinely misplace it?

There are at lears two types 14 inch wheels I can thinkmof.
1- the Pollux two types, 5,5 and/or 6 inch wide
2- the Atlas This opne is needed if you have ventilated discs at the front.

Hi Al,

There is a five-spoke wheel for sale on eBay including a tyre. It has about a day to go.

Item No. 2455872310 or just search "480" if that doesn't work.

Kev.

I was once rammed off the road and this shattered my pollox alloy.

So its a pollox rim you are after the. Where are you from I might be able to help.

need 5.5J X 14" Atlas type, and this is how I lost it!

Post by alcmarsh » Thu Jan 29, 2004 1:37 pm

I belive the wheel I'm after is a 5.5J X 14" Atlas type.
I have the bolt cover!, but need everything else, e.g. wheel and tyre.

So it went like this.

Car had slow puncture, which I was keeping topped up every few weeks.
Didn't drive it for a couple of months.
Went to car, wheel now flat.
Change wheel, put on space saver.
Put wheel in boot.
Drove to garage on way to work.
Took wheel from boot, pumped it up.
In a bit of a hurry, decided to keep space saver and change wheels after work.
Checked space saver pressure, which was a bit low
Pumped up space saver
Went to work.
8 hours later realised that I had neglected to replace my wheel back in the boot after pumping it up...

Went back to garage, but wheel had walked.

Oops.
