wheel geometry and knocking when braking.

Hello.

Got my wheels checked out yesterday and the tracking done as it was so bad it felt like one wheel was going sideways! Anyway, got the whole geometry thing done and they said that the passenger side wheel is out, not just total toe and half toe :? but camber and castor also. The toe measurements were adjusted with the tracking but the others can't be done apparently....is this correct?? They weren't very helpful with their info. She drives fine, like before, so I'm not overly worried, but I guess the tyres will get worn unevenly.

Also, on the way to mot, when braking the same corner (near side) knocks with the speed of the wheel. More noticeable at higher speeds. The brakes past the mot and no change is felt in the braking, brake pedal or steering. I think maybe something might be loose, calliper or brake disk maybe, or could it be because the wheel is a bit squiffy??

Any thoughts would be great. My mate is putting new tyres on the front tomorrow and he will also test drive her and have a look, but I thought I would ask here also :D

Thanks for reading ;)

you must have bent something if geometry is out.

Ok...well the knocking when braking turns out to be from the rear.....a patch of rust where the pads have been sat for so long. After getting the tyres fitted she was test driven hard and all seems good. The rears will obviously take a while to clean up, but at least I know all is ok.

Oh yeah.....after the new tyres were fitted, she drove soooo much better. It seems the wood in between the wheel and tyre had a very bad effect on the car!!!!.....with old tyres....big shuddering with heavy acceleration....with new tyres, all is good...sweeeeet :D
