Great idea - where's the link please?

Will see how I'm fixed - might just end up with a photo of me throwing the bushes in the bushes!

I recently changed the top engine bush on the 850 using the vice technique. Made the job real easy. had the old one out and new in in about 10 mins. :D

Note Haynes recomend new nuts and bolts when replacing the wishbone bushes - any thoughts amigos? Volvo didn't say anything.

Update:

Well the new 'odd' bushes are now in. Standard bush on the rear of wishbone and the specific Auto bush (has stronger metal surround rather than plastic) on the front (N/S only req).

Found it weird the bolts for the inner wishbone are push up rather than drop down (nut on top not below) for safety I thought they'd be the other way around incase the nut ever came loose (no washers either I saw), but noticed can't get them in that way due to guard cover just in the way.

Took JT's advice and hacksawed the old bushes out and 'viced' the new ones in (tried the bolt method, but it just bent the washer Rob!) which worked great.

Worst job (and they were all in close contention) was putting the wishbones back in the inner mountings (as the old bushes had kinda 'welded' into that 45o angle facing downwards and the new ones were exactly 90o to the horizontal, what a pig. Tried jacking suspension up, but that just pushed it outwards at the same time. Ended up with an adjustable spanner vertical to the bolt pulling to to 90o with Mrs C levering it upwards with a spade once it was level with the mounting hole.

Was hailstoning the whole time, and got some nice war wounds from when the spanner slipped :sh: so wasn't in the mood for photoguide this time sorry amigos!

Rebooked in for the MOT thursday, just putting 4new tyres on it tomoz and (grazed) fingers crossed.

Normal way for ok parts would be remove top two bolts (undo) or at least how dad and I fitted new w/bones
