Front wheel bearing?

Does your 480 have tracking-problems? Does your car pull to one side? Or is your steering wheel vibrating? Read the posts in this category to find out what's going on.

Front wheel bearing?

Post by rogue » Mon Nov 24, 2003 6:48 pm

Is this particularly expensive for the 480? Is it the same bearing for ALL the 400 series?

Anyone tell me what the PART NUMBER and approx cost is? Thanks...

part number is 3454197, presumably the same for turbo and non turbo - don't know about official Volvo spares, but a compatible front bearing for the 480 will be about 15-20 quid from the likes of GSF etc

If you do buy Volvo spares, you will also need 2 x 914535 retaining rings (circlips) - when I got a non Volvo replacement from GSF, the circlips were included.

bearing was £16 + VAT. from Volvo, just reuse the circlips, if you don't damage them.

hi,
I had a front wheel bearing defective. I asked at an official Volvo dealer, they estimated it would be 2 hours work (remembering the thread of mr. dragon as he could not remove it easy)

than i( ;) ) had the work done with a non brand volvo specialist, allong with the APK. (MOT) no big bill in total :D

thanks mr dragonlord as you 've saved me some gray hair, as i prob. would have done it my selves.

Luck

luck,
