Lowered my Collection

Post by Daniel480 » Sat Apr 16, 2005 7:20 pm

Hi,

today i dropped my Collection with German Fintec springs.

The Collie dropped 25mm in front, and the back came 20mm down.
Toegether with a set of new Koni yellows, which have been set to the weakest stand, i now have a new car.

Koni´s are the best :hopping: The overal ride has improved. The car handles much better and the comfort is also much better than the original Volvo setup.

The pics are´n´t that good, but in real those 25mm look very

nice ! :volvo:

As for me it's just a little diffrence. volviz car is lowered in a seen way. I'd like to drop mine about 35mm.
BTW how much did you have to pay for lowering springs Daniel? I'm thinking about cutting my springs.

Hi, thanks :D

I think with 40mm springs the car looks to low, toegether with standard wheels,so the 20-30 mm drop is perfect for me. Just like the original lowering kit from Volvo (30mm) :D

The springs are are from Fintec/Germany. I bought them for 85 Euro at Ebay, but thats a while ago! But you can still find them on the German Ebay ! for about 100 Euro ;)

Also there are Weitec springs from Germany, they have 30-35 mm.

I like it very much now, much better than the 60/40 lowering i once had.Looked dam good with those RH wheels, but it was to hard :( for the 480.Image

Hmm - hug the ground :)

Koni do the red and the yellow shocks for the 480 don't they?
Apart from the adjuster - is there any difference?

forgive my ignorance and my curiosity - but are those 14" or 15" alloys?

Difference between red and yellow is (i think) the yellow has a greater range of adjustability, and at their lowest setting are still firmer than the equivalent lowest setting on the reds.
Also on-car adjustability for the yellows. :D

Correct me someone if i'm talking pish.

that Leda stuff Richard mentioned looks great, but a bit pricey!

Hi,

both are adjustable ! The yellow are the sport shocks. You can adjust them to veryveryvery hard ;)

The red´s are more like the orginla shocks Volvo build in, but also here you can make them a littele harder!

1) Milosz: Cutting the springs will produce "interesting" handling.....more likely downright awful! I certainly wouldn't recommend it!
2) the rear springs are "pig tailed" too, so after you've cut them they won't stay where they are put.

I quit from that idea ;) I can buy brand new lowering springs for about 100 Euro. Guy who produces them can make from 20 to 70mm dropping springs. I'd like to to drop off about 40mm.

Do not forget that if you like to adjust the konis you must build them out completely.

RED koni is like (standart) factory shocks
Yellow is sport

Fintec springs

Post by JeanPete » Tue Jul 04, 2006 8:58 am

Hello, y'all !

Where can I find Fintec (or Ventura) springs (in any case, 30 mm springs) at lowest price, please ? ~100 € without postage could be perfect (~130 € including postage).

I've been checking eBay.co.uk and eBay.de for so long, now... And found nothing. :(

Thanks !
