Rear wheel scrubbage still.....
I have 16" 205/45 wheels and tyres, bought off Jamo. They did not scrub on his car at all. They scrubbed badly on the outer edges even when i removed as much metal as i dare from the archs.
It appeared obvious that there must be a difference in the track width. After measuring the track width of my K plate ES axel and comparing it to a spare H plate one, we discovered the later track was increased by 10mm, 5mm each side for some bizarre reason. We concluded that between J and K plates they altered the rear track...
Having spent all the other evening changing the axel we thought we had it sussed
Went to college and got three other people in the car and low and behold still scrubbage on the outside of the passenger side(the side the axel pivots up towards) although not half as bad Its driving me nuts, why does it still scrub yet they didn't on Jamo's???
May have to refit my adjustable panard rod to pull it over a bit. The only other way to reduce the track yet further would be to have some of the wheel offset machined off. I don't mind altering the inner arch where the rear seat retaining brackets bolt on. (There a square lump that sticks out into the arch)

Because the panhard rod is solid, and is fitted between the axle and car body at an angle....
When the car is lowered the angle of the rod decresases so moves the axle slightly to the left. If the car is jacked up the axle moves to the right.
When Volvo fitted (taller) towing springs they fit a longer panhard rod to center the axle for the increased hight, and the lowering kit (Volvo one) has a shorter panhard rod (also to center the axle).
An adjustable panhard rod means that you can center the axle to allow for he ride hight of the car when it is lowered with aftermarket springs.

mmm!
I had my tracking adjusted to compensate for this as it was reading 4 at front and 8 at the rear.....
So I guess,I now have a car where the front and rear wheels are both too far to the left or right??!!!!
Oh well,fuck it,handles like a 944 with FWD so I'm not complaining!!!!!!
