Steering wheel off centre

Post by Big Brother » Fri Jan 28, 2005 2:41 pm

Had the tracking done recently and my steering wheel is off centre. Is the easy way to fix this just to remove the steering wheel and put it back on straight or is there another way of doing it?

Cheers

Get the tracking done properly!
Unless someone has removed the steering wheel previously to correct it whilst the tracking was misalligned, a correct tracking should bring the wheel back to centre.
Are you sure they actually "did" the tracking? Plenty of trackings are done without tracking guages on the car ;)

Can be done that way, but depends how it has gone out of alignment. If the tracking has just been done then it should be set right, so yeah... take the wheel off and move it. I cant seem to get mine right as the wheel moves a fair bit each time you move it on the spline if you see what I mean. Think I need my tracking done too..

My second post tells how to sort this out.....

However, was it off centre before you took it in? If not, do not do this, go back and tell the monkeh's to do it again properly this time.

I don't mess with tracking unless its wrong. Bad experiences with it getting MUCH worse. Finding a good tracking place is like finding a diamond.
