What's wheels are these?

Post by Themasteryeti » Mon Sep 11, 2023 10:00 pm

Recently saw this 480 pop up while scrolling through my Instagram and wondered if anyone had any information about the wheels, what they are and if they're original to the 480?

They're late 360GLT alloys...

However, saying that, they were often promoted as optional in various 300 accessory brochures...

Pictured page right, centre left. This means any 300 could of rolled out the dealer with them, should the owner have "upgraded" :D

Never knowingly fitted to a 400 in an OE capacity to my knowledge.

It's wheel #13 in the parts catalogue but has two part numbers as it was available in two finishes (silver or dark silver)

To be more specific, those are the ‘Columbia’ 14” alloys. As JayKayEm said, they were standard on the later facelift 360 GLT and an option on other 300 series models.

I think they were a dealer fit no-cost option on the 480 in select European markets for a short period as well. They didn’t appear in any 400 brochure, so I guess it was more an ‘unofficial’ dealer option.

If you want a set, the good news is that they are plug and play with a 480. You’d have more luck asking for a set in the Volvo 300 Forums/Facebook. Though, they can be quite a strange bunch at times…
