Hello guys finally I found a custom coilover kit for 4xx series

https://www.classicswede.co.uk/Full_on_ ... 15871.aspx

The only problem is
I don t know if can give me some issue on the rear because this kit in the rear have a different setup, rear damper and coil spring are toghether

Not the stock setup with damperin a position and spring separates.

For u can give some problem this?, can this destroy chassiss?

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought the original rear mounts were designed with springing forcing in mind.

I've seen similar kits that adapt the rear beam to take a standard 2 1/4" spring.

Don't forget that if you're going to lower it, there's a good chance you'll need a shorter/adjustable panhard rod too.

The top and bottom damper fixing are both in double shear so more than strong enough for mounting coilovers.

Having the spring and damper as 1 unit keep the unsprung weight down

I'd have been worried about bending the trailing arm as it is really designed for fore/aft loading an d'some' bending ie where the shock mounts, but NOT the full load, however Cranna has fitted coil-overs (all around) so he could provide feed-back

‎I mean, if you're going to be adventurous with suspension......!

I can' tell if this less wheel suspension and more like an active anti-roll bar or if the system does both. This is great Dutch experimentation back in the late 80's, early 90's.

Interestingly Citroen achieved this in production with the Xantia Activa, which doesn't roll. It still holds some record for most G-force in a turn or something like that.  Very interesting to see it cornering in a video.

I bet this 480 handles like it is on rails. I wonder where it is? This French post mentions it being photographed in 2007.‎

The coilovers were from me and I am sure Fraser would have been bending my ear if his suspension was bending!

There are also some sets gone out to track cars and again no issues have come up. The mounting points do have enough strength
