hi!
i'll change my subframe in the future and wonder, if i buy a new one or go to a scrapyard. what's the price of a new original part and arms too?

I have just done mine this weekend.

There are 2 types of subframes. The way you tell the difference is that one is black and the other is grey. Pre 1993 cars have the grey subframes and post 1993 inclusive have the black ones.

I once had a quote for a new front subframe which was around if i remember wright was £400 + vat. From a scrapyard they are from anywhere from £30 up.

huh, a little expencive for a new one.. but can i fit any 4xx one at least it's grey and manual trans (like mine)? and non diesel, ofcourse. how do you see, the scrapy one isn't bent? you see, my car was damaged by the previous owner pretty hard, he had to stretch the suspension on left wheel for almost an inch :shock: and i can hardly see any inpurities in shape? can i like measure something, to be sure?
