Which lowering springs??

Post by bkf_uk » Wed Dec 23, 2009 4:21 pm

ok im going to be putting new springs on my 440 (old ones are dead!)

Have already got kyb gas shocks at the front (rears are standard but in good condition) was looking at buying the following makes of spring, all drop by 40mm (only 20mm extra for me though) just want to know which ones are the better quality that wont sag too quickly!

1, Boge (been the cheapest i could find )
2, Spax
3, PI
4, LK (the most im prepared to spend)

Have had the price from the stealership on how much it would cost to get a full set of the original springs that i had on. (i had the original volvo official lowering kit on my 440) and the springs are going to cost in excess of £350 (more than my car is worth!)

Thanks for your time guys!
Toys:-
2001 Ford focus (not as much fun as my volvo was!)
94 440 turbo auto (Sent to the main dealer in the sky :cryhard: )
92 Suzuki gn250 (Still in rebuild)

Boge are budget springs, but with good relation money-quality

Spax are better, but price is higher

I have no experience with products made by PI and LK :dunno:

well ive gone and done it!

Bought the following setup which i hope is good but cant fit until my carpal tunnel syndrome decides to bugger off so i can use wmy wrist again!

2x KYG excel-g nitrogen front struts
2x Sachs boge standard rear shocks (ones on the car are fine so dont see any point replacing them yet!)
And a full set of Sachs Boge -40mm Lowering springs, in a rather fetching red colour!

Will post Before and after pics of the car to show what there like.
