Changing front suspension arms (wishbones)

Post by glasgowjim » Sat Nov 21, 2009 1:26 pm

Well car failed on the bushes - yes all of them on the front suspension arms so , changed the drivers side took a while but it was doine with any mahor problems , so today did the near side or tried to , off came the old one easy then the new one in place manouvered about and well the driveshaft has slipped out of position for one , cant get the last of the two chassis bolts in position. So thought take a break and think abpout it have lunch a then blitz the problem .

Now the rain is pelting down I stll am no further on so will try to postion the hub so the drive shaft locates and bolt up the lower wishbone arm then try the last bolt.

Oh have used spring compressors to relieve pressure on the hub.

Any thoughts guys as its driving me nuts . I am terrified that I snap the rubber gaiter and spill the oil all over the road

good luck jim, sounds like you have your hands full.

Went out to try the car but was disturbed to answer a phone call so when I returned I forgot to remove the spring compressors before putting the wheel on DOH!
