one side higher than the other

Post by Rachel » Wed Apr 22, 2009 3:09 pm

Hello!

My 480 has got replacement shocks, but the same springs, and now new drop links both sides. One side was lower than the other side, I think cause it was left without a drop link for a short while (this is the lower side). Now the drop links have been put on the car still sits with one side higher than the other.....question is should this sort itself after driving it for a while (am I just being paranoid) or could something else be amiss here :?

Thank you ;)

The lower side is also the side that the car has been jacked up on to quite a lot....this maybe have been the reason it's is lower rather the lack of drop link?? I don't really know, it's just a thought :D

hi, the only thing that comes to mind is that one spring has compressed more than other side mainly due to wear, would you have noticed if it was like that before new shockers? mines been lowered and i have noticed the rear spring is more compressed than other side and that was straight after fitting them, put your mind at rest and get it looked at. :)

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

Well, after some driving they are much more even, so I guess it was all they needed. The springs were fine before replacement shocks.

Thanks again ;)

Yeah, it should settle. It could be that the spring is not seated in one of the cups properly. You should be able to see without removing the wheel.
