At our last (I'm glad it wasn't the last ever) trip home from Gotland, my wife and I suddenly felt a vibration in the car.
I could clearly feel it in the steering wheel, so it had to come from the front of the car.
Then after a little while, the car lost it's steering
It was the most scaring driving experience I've ever had
I braked down to 50 kmh and then it was OK again.
Searching for an explanation on the Swedish site (it's easier with the proper terminology there ) , I thought it might be the lower steering joint that was worn out. But changing this (400 SEK at the scrappie's) didn't do any good.
So I went for the outer joint on the right drive shaft, which I knew was bad. The scrap yard/garage had a -92 460 with 2 litres engine in the yard and this fitted my -88 480 turbo.
Cost for the drive shaft+work was only 700 SEK
Now I have no problem with speeding on my way to work
Have anyone of You had the same problem/experience
