How do I tell if my ball joint is on its way out?

Does your 480 have tracking-problems? Does your car pull to one side? Or is your steering wheel vibrating? Read the posts in this category to find out what's going on.

I have a hunch that one of my bottom ball joints is starting to go. How do I prove that it is?

jack wheel up and grab it at both sides and wiggle it. if it has some loose play the ball joint is duffed.

On a sillier note I guess when you start limping

it isnt difficult but get a ball joint splitter then its sooooo easy. dont forget to measure position oh track rod so when you fit the new one it can be set so that you dont screw up your tracking
