underside overhaul

this weekend i plan to strip back and paint most of the components on the under-side first a suncorite primer then a nice bright yellow was thinking of the rear axle - components associated and also the front and rear roll bars ( small details make a bigger picture )
once there done i'll take a few pics and when i can post pics ill post them up ... I know not many people will see them every day but the members that come to meets can have a nosey around under side

when I putted mine on roof.. everyone could admire clean suspension

the rear axle has been cleaned off and the under coat has been applied have to wait untill the weekend to applie the top coat then the pics will be put up for you all to admire

Hi,

I cleaned the underside of mine then used my air compressor with a anti rust sealer. I did the whole lot and even using the air gun (special app) it still took a long time. I also did this to the spitfire and that took half the time as it's all new steel (painted 1st of course)

hoorar the axle has been rust proofed !
2 coats of suncorite rust eating paint
and thn 2 coats of marine spec yellow paint should stop all the oxidisation

it takes a long time doing it due to the paint drying times

all in the diary thread aswell

next up is the front end when i have a bit of spare time

Wiring problems mainly (non of the dash board lights come on when the ignition is on), which was one of the things she failed her MOT on (as well as faulty rear brakes). The brakes i can do, but i dont have the money to sort out the wiring problem at the mo (and a new windscreen as well, cos theres a massive crack in it!!)

But while she is off the road i am trying to do little things (like your idea) so she will last even longer when she is back burning rubber on the warwickshire tarmac

that sounds familiar with the lights
mine used to flicker on and off all the time untill i cleaned all the connections

smart move overhauling her whilst off the road .
I plan to get the roll bars changed soon to white line with poly bushes
so that will be another weekend off the road

Well, i hope never to have to sell her, so i am trying my best to look after her, and keep her in tip top condition!
