has anyone tried to change a steering rack

Just got another 480 which the previous owner said he had been told he needs a new steering rack.
The power steering fluid leaks out at a significant rate .

any ideas not been able to examine car closely to establish source of leak yet.

how easy is it to change .

can a steering rack from a K reg 480 s fit a M reg 480 turbo ?

Yes.
Time consuming.
Yes.

Its a bit of a bitch to get in and out, you have to rotate it so far one way, then so far another so that one of its pipes passes through the slit cut out of the engine mount!

and remember to plug the pipes as the fluid goes all over the place.
