Winter tires

Post by 1852 » Wed Oct 25, 2006 12:47 pm

I want to put wintertire's on my vega's (15 inch). They say that small tire's are better in the winter, why?! They strongly recommend to take the 185/60R15 instead of a 195/55R15 or 195/50R15. Anybody any experience? The price for 185/60R15 is almost the same as a 195/50R15. The 195/55R15 costs a lot more (15€ pp)

greets Ingmar

its simpel. Wider the tire, more you push snow in front of it and then there is more chanse to get stuck or loose control, cos tire doesn't cut trough snow and flotes on it. I'm gona but 175/65/R14's on.
