Just working through a slack handbrake problem on the 2L to find that rubber piston seal is knacked so piston may be seized as well. Fluid came out of the handbrake cable cover when I removed the caliper so that may be tight as well.
Disk thickness is .310 and min is .320 so I may need discs etc etc etc.
Question is I see GSF mentioned a lot but no links to it. Can anyone give me a link or the URL.

Many thanks for the url.
The mike I used is imperial and my imperial mind uses 40 thou to the mm. Haynes says 8mm for min thickness so there is your 0.32". (I finished my engineering apprenticeship before many of the forum users were born!)

If its 10mm I'm well thin, but at 10 thou under 8mm I hope I will get away with it - MOT is v soon.
Learnt a lot about rear brakes and Cathrooms comments (hit it with a hammer) were useful.
Initially I had 6/7 notches then pulled up ok.
Looking under I saw that the balance arm was way out. I thjought the problem was with teh offside because the piston seemed v tight but on reassambling the caliper and the adjuster it seemed ok.
I then did the nearside and suspect that the adjsuter had not been done.
the last service Aug 04 said the handbrake cables were renewed and calipers adjusted - I think not.
Anyway after adjusting the handbrake is on 2/3 clicks with a straight balance arm. After I test drive tomorrow I will decide whether to visit my local GSF outlet.
