I could do with replacing my rear discs and pads soon,
does anyone know of any good deals at the moment?

just get the standard and cheapest parts from GSF - the car uses the rears so little, it's simply not worth having anything else. Even my car, with super dooper front brakes will still have the standard rears.

Seriously though, take one of the rear wheels off.

If you can see a screw head that holds the disc to the hub, you want the without hub ones.

I think pre '91 is the hub type disc. Bite the bullet and buy the original Volvo pads - I would! They last longer and don't squeel when hot. I don't believe there's much difference in the price either. As Dragon said, don't be too worried about the preformance of the rear brakes. Be sure to put back in the squeel shims and a lick of copper grease when changing them...

The hub type discs are generally earlier cars, but not necessarily pre 1991. My car has non hub type.

In fact I have only seen the hub type once, on a 1987 ES.

Much the same as the small front calipers, generally earlier cars.
