First time 480 owner needs help with his ABS

Post by balto8 » Fri Sep 12, 2014 10:55 pm

HI everyone in the forum.

This is Balto from Valencia, Spain.

Just got myself a black 1991 480 turbo with 148.000 kms on the speedo and a gorgeous sunroof. I'm elated. Right now it's being transfered to me. I'll get my hands on her on tuesday. Can't wait.

While doing the test drive with the seller, everything seemed fine execpt for the ABS. It won't activate and the ABS pilot lights up intermittently. The car was bought by this person in june 1991 in Spain. ( sole owner)

Could you guys tell me: wich version of ABS do I have?, where is the control unti located? What should be the reference number of my ABS control unit?

I know this is very few info but happened to me while testing it, have not been able to take it to the garage for a check.

DO you think I'm headed in the right direction assuming the control unit is the failure?

Thanks in advance.

Use the diagnostic box to check and it will indicate what is wrong with the ABS system
