Hi folks,

The ABS warning light stays permanently on on my '94 Turbo. Am I facing a major repair, or an adjustment / clean-up of the ABS sensors, fluid?

I experienced once such a trouble during a trip all the day ! So at the end of the trip ( braking was still in use ! ) I checked the fuses and connectors !
Everything was OK .............The next morming , no longer any defect and since a year no more ! ! !

What was the reason ? probably a poor contact cured by checking connectors around ABS block or in the fuse box ?

Replaced any driveshafts lately? Mr TurboTwat had the problem of being sold a driveshaft for a car without gAyBS and it doesn't have these little notch bits that the sensors pick up...

First check fluid level and wheel sensor resistances (400 to 1800 ohms).
Then check fault codes (go to a dealer to have it checked).
If the computer is faulty you have to buy a new or used one, these Mark II
series often have a not repairable failure after 130000-150000 km.

My ABS light did shine very briefly for the last time...

I'm not getting any fault whatsover showing from the ABS system. However the light works as it comes on and goes off as it should starting the car up. Yet the brakes lock badly if you do an emergency stop from 50 mph. Any ideas on where the problem might lie? I assume not a lot of point with a diagnostic from Volvo if the car isn't reading a fault?

Hey vins, you might need some good polish to polish that scratch out, oops.

Check the ABS sensor on the drivers side front wheel (RHD drive) - these can get crudded up and make errors appear, also check the wiring isn't damaged - it's a think co-axial cable, so may have got hard and cracked?
