upgraded brakes

Post by V480TI » Sun Sep 14, 2008 3:14 pm

Oke, a car is as fast as it's brakes.
For us guys with the big mod I think a good upgrade is wise.
(well, still trying to get in contact with Richard, but the aim is to have a big mod)

I have been playing with different brands of ventilated sport disks but I am still not happy, not even with fresh brake oil and original Volvo brake pads.

So, is there an other calipper that fit's the front of our turboed 400's ?
With a bigger brake disc and then maybe also the possibility to fit green stuff or red stuff or even other brands of sport disks and sport brake pads or will it be custom work then ???

You could fit 280mm dics from a VW Corrado G60.
Perhaps the caliper is a straight bolt-on, but I cannot confirm that.

Other nice calipers would be the BMW E30 m3 or E28 calipers. These will filt the 280mm discs, but I dont know if the bolt right on the hubs.

Just a quick question was it just the turbos that were fitted with the vented disks? Cuz my celebs got solid ones still brake well but wouldnt mind the vented pups! :D
