I have plans for fitting brembo calipers and 305mm disks. I got them from soneone else so I would need to get permission to post the details.

There are a lot of conversion builds on VW's (with Seat Ibiza Cupra R brembo calipers with 305mm discs, so do the google). Principles remains the same. It is all custom made.

The brackets and connectors (oily bits) are the biggest trouble.

Today i saw that a volvo 240 has a 4 piston brake caliper. The surface of a standard brake pad of a 440 is 79,5cm2 and that of a 240 55cm2. But the 240 brake caliper has 4 pistons, so is it worth it to fit the 240 brakes under my racer? Also the diameter of the piston of a 440 is 54mm, the pistons of the 240 brake caliper are 38mm, but is has four of it.
Would this work (much) better with brembo discs than the standard setup?

I'm looking into bigger brakes, probably looking to build myself some based on the wilwood calipers, with 280mm discs so I can still use stock wheels. Failing that I think that the G60 brakes should ift fairly easily just with an adapter bracket, and they're 280mm

Although as a temporary thing, I've just bought some Brembo Discs (£55 pair) and Genunie Volvo Pads (free :))

Megane Phase 2 16V are 280mm, drive shaft arrangement etc.. is same as 400 Volvos, not sure if the hub/wishbone arrangement will fit though?

I heard there's also some WV Golf which have the same size of brakes than the 480.

Helped a friend putting a lowering set on a Volkswagen Golf 4 1.8T.
Well : that car has also ATE calippers with sliding pins, and a larger brake surface.(also 54 mm piston)
I know that Renault Clio RS brake discs (280mm) fit fine (i have tried them)
Now sourcing a set of those brake calippers.
Only thing is that 15 inch wheels will be minimum.

Only the increase in brake surface should do it.

And offcourse if I get Tarox G88 Renault Sport Clio and Ferodo pads, combined with Goodridge brake lines and brake fluid with higher boiling point then normal, it should stop.....

What are the differences between the Clio RS brake disc and a Corrado G60 brake disc?

I haven't got the slightest clue on that.
