Hi I need to renew the brake pipes on the celeb. Does anyone know what size the pipe is and has anyone ever changed the pipes themselves? looks easy enough, Also do these flaring tools work ok or is there a better one to go for.
Thanks
Richard

ive always just bought standard copper brake pipe (assume you mean the copper piping yeah?)...didnt realise there are different sizes of pipe?
is the tool youre talking about the one that looks like a block thing, and you hammer a shaping tool onto the pipe?
i had one that clamped the pipe, then had a choice of shapers that you could use to flange....theyre not bad actually...pretty easy to use once youve got the hang of it.

Just go to your local motor factors and ask for a roll of brake pipe, think I paid about £7 last time and managed to do the entire system on the tipo off that
And as for the ends - I got this, did the job spot on

I have a full kit, for flaring male/female all sizes of pipe, a roll of pipe, a cutter, and loads of fittings for 35quid from eurocarparts.
This was 2004.
You could probably get it cheaper, but this way i just patched the rusty parts of the front to rear pipes, rather than replacing the lot.
Be warned, the pipes are very complex at the front on models fitted with tracs.
