New Car - New Brake Pads.

Post by rgreenhalf » Wed Aug 09, 2006 2:23 pm

Firstly hello to everyone in here, im new to the 480 scene and im trying to get my 480 to a suitable standard again. Im looking for new brake pads to offer better performance than the current ones, that quite frankly offer no confidence.

I was looking at EBC black stuff pads (These ones)

How can i tell if my car has ABS? Its a 1990 1.7 ES. Im not looking to replace the discs at this stage either, is this a mistake? Any thoughts appreicated! Ive got to do 3000miles in this car and i want it to be able to stop!

Thanks

Ross

1990 would have an ABS ecu (metal box, held in with brakets, about the size of a paperback book), in the near side cubby hole in the boot. Do you have an ABS light on the dash when you turn the ignition light on?
