Exchanging Fluids
I've been looking into what brake fluid to get and there seems to be a consensus that 5.1 is the stuff to get, but I was looking under performance fluids and found this on the Demon Tweeks site:-
Castrol Response Super Performance Syntheric Dot 4
Does anyone know if this is as the website claims, a high performance alternative to Dot 5.1?

94 onwards should be able to have dot5, but only if you flush out all the dot4 stuff. The two don't mix. dot 5 will kill the seals on the early cars though, so only use it if you are sure you don't have any scrapyard earlier calipers fitted. I guess to make sure you could fit seal kits to everything, since the new seals you get will be ok with dot5.JohnTurbo wrote:EEP - I know a few people who use "exchanging fluids" in a totally different sence.
I have no idea what is in mine. Is there any rule as to which can take dot5?
dot5.1 is mixable with dot4, but it's possible that it could cause problems. As Chris says, it may be ok, or may not. Don't think I'll take the chance myself, but time will tell as others are using it.

Ah!Excellent!Another chance for me,amongst others,to road test this shit!
Adam put 5.1 in my Paris b4 I bought her.
Its recent,in the last 6 months that is!!!
Anyway no probs so far.
Low mileage for me at the moment is 400 miles a week so if I bend it,I'll report it here!
