gearbox linkage

Post by billy5000 » Sun Jan 22, 2006 4:22 pm

Hi all

just wacked some graphite grease on the gearbox bar under the car and it is 100% better and smoother.

it has two joints at each end of the main bar which were dry as a nuns **** but the question is at the gearbox end of the bar it seems there was a rubber boot or something which on mine is almost gone and very exposed,i have an old unused cv rubber boot(small)i was thinking of modifing it to replace the worn/cut one and bang it all up with a zippy tie or two and a wad load of grease.

not sure how yet but im not to worried as it usually works out as planned i hope :D

question is would this suffice as a repair or should it be done as new??
any tips on making it tip top id be happy for:)

put my cd player in 2day and didnt have to change connecters :hopping:

all 4 speakers work well even being they standard ones and stopped the dash rattle at the same time BIG TIME DUCT TAPE hehe

just gotta work out how to install a bass tube :D

cheers all
