Re-Conditioned Clutch

Post by pol » Fri Nov 28, 2003 4:29 pm

Anyone ever heard of re-conditioned clutch kits??
Just found a place that do these, a lot cheaper than brand new. Suppose they just fix new friction plates.. Apparantely all the springs and bearings are new.

Anyone any experience with these? Good idea or not?

What are people's thoughts on this?

There is a Mercedes company that do this for the old classic mercs.
It's a good idea, They seem to work fine, and are covered by a warranty.

Personally i wouldn't got for it.

Because changing the clutch on the 480 is such a pig of a job.

I'd rather pay the money for a new clutch and less chance of having to change it again.

Pay more now, save later........
